Varieties

SANGIOVESE

Sangiovese is the traditional grape variety of Tuscany and Umbria, two central regions in Italy. It is the grape responsible for the well known Chianti Classico and Brunello di Montalcino. Sangiovese got its name from its vibrant colour as ‘Sangue di Giove’, meaning the ‘blood of Jupiter’.

Medium bodied, fresh and lively, it lingers delightfully while cleansing on the palate with a hint of French Oak. A natural wine that enhances your food, served well with Italian meals, spicy foods and even seafood.

NEBBIOLO

Is the noble northern Italian grape variety from Piedmont, with a history that may extend as far back as the 13th century. This grape is renowned to produce the ‘King of Red Wines’. It is difficult to grow but so easy to drink. The yield is very small so production is always limited. Perfectly suited for a King or a Queen.

Nebbiolo's name comes from ‘nebbia’ that translates to fog, either depicting the climate in northern Italy or the colour of the grape skin close to harvest time. Well rounded, balanced by a smooth texture with refined tannins – everyone loves it – a superb drop.

CABERNET FRANC

Cabernet Franc is a primary variety in the making of the classic red wine of Bordeaux.Traditionally used with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it adds aromatic complexity to the blend. Cabernet Franc is one of the genetic parents of Cabernet Sauvignon, the other being Sauvignon Blanc. Our Cabernet Franc is soft in tannins and generous with finesse, has a deep ruby colour with a hint of garnet. It is elegant with ripe flavours and a long pleasant finish.
